S12 is a survivin inhibitor. Alters spindle formation, causing mitotic arrest (by disrupting metaphase at the G2/M stage) and cell death. S 12 inhibits tumor growth in vitro and in vivo, and effectively inhibits cell proliferation and tumor growth independently of p53 status.
